Using Tags
A shared, per-type list of tag names — built for you automatically as you type them on a Contact, Project, or Task. There’s no separate page to manage it; the tag field itself is the whole interface.

1Before you start
You don’t set anything up ahead of time. The first time you type a brand-new tag name into a Contact, a Project, or a Task, it’s added to a shared registry for that area — reusable as a suggestion from then on, everywhere else that same type of record has a tag field.
Unlike Categories, this module has no dedicated screen of its own for adding, renaming, or deleting entries directly — a tag only ever comes into being by being typed for real on a record.
2Using a tag field
On Projects and Tasks, the Tags field works as chips: type a name and press comma or Enter to turn it into a chip, or pick a suggestion from the list as you type. Pressing Backspace in an empty field removes the last chip. Click the × on any chip to remove it.
On Contacts, the field works the same way in spirit — type a name and press Enter, or choose a suggestion — with each tag shown as its own removable chip above the input.
The moment you commit a new tag, it’s offered as a suggestion on every other tag field of that same type in the app — not just the record you typed it on.
Common tasks
Reusing a tag you’ve typed before
Start typing in any Tags field of the matching type and matching suggestions appear — click one, or finish typing the same name and press Enter/comma, and it reuses the existing entry instead of creating a near-duplicate.
Fixing a typo in a tag
There’s no rename or delete tool for the registry itself. If you’ve typed a tag with a typo, remove the chip from the records that carry it and re-tag them with the corrected spelling — the old name stays in the suggestion list (it doesn’t disappear on its own) until nothing new is ever typed with it again, but it also won’t do any harm just sitting there unused.

Tag types
Three fixed types exist, one per area of the app with a real tag field. They’re completely independent — a tag named “vip” typed on a Contact and “vip” typed on a Project are two separate entries, not one shared name.

What this module doesn’t do
There’s nowhere in the app to add a tag ahead of time, rename one, or delete one directly — see Fixing a typo. Compare this to Categories, which has its own page for exactly that.
Once a name is registered for a type it stays a permanent suggestion, even after every record wearing it is deleted or retagged — there’s no cleanup step that removes unused ones.
