New: Status in Team Chat — Share, Vanish in 24h
Team Chat Status is here: post a text, photo or short video to your team that disappears after 24 hours — and see exactly who viewed it.
Some news is only true for a day. Today’s fuel price, this morning’s stock-out, the supplier who says “deliver by 4pm” — it matters now, and it’s noise by tomorrow.
That is exactly why we built Status, the newest addition to team chat in FinAccounting. Post a text, photo or short video to your whole team, watch it disappear after 24 hours, and see exactly who viewed it.
What’s new: Status in Team Chat
Status is a one-to-many post for your team, sitting right at the top of your chats. You write it once and everyone who works with you can see it.
You can post a text update, a photo or a short video. That covers almost everything a working day throws at you — a note, a picture of the shelf, a quick clip of the new display.
And the best part: it clears itself after 24 hours. No deleting, no tidying up, no stale pinned message that stopped being true last Tuesday.
Status is live in your Team Chat right now. Tap “My status” at the top of your chats and say hello to the team.
How to post your first team chat status
It takes less than a minute. There is nothing to set up and nothing to switch on.
- Open Team Chat in FinAccounting, on your phone or your computer.
- Tap My status at the top of your chats.
- Write your text, or attach a photo or a short video.
- Post it. Your team sees it, and it disappears 24 hours later.
Later, open your status again to see who has viewed it. That single list saves a dozen “did you see my message?” follow-ups.
New to the chat side of the app? The Team Chat guide walks through the Company room, direct messages, groups, attachments, voice notes, voice calls and read receipts.
Seven real ways your team will use Status
Think of Status as the notice board at the front of the shop, except everyone carries it in their pocket.
- Today’s prices. Post the day’s rate once instead of repeating it to each person.
- Shift and cover notes. “Kofi is closing tonight, Ama opens tomorrow.”
- A photo of the shelf. Show the gap instead of describing it.
- Deliveries on the way. “Supplier truck arriving around 2pm, keep the back door clear.”
- A short how-to video. Thirty seconds showing the new way to ring up a sale.
- A daily win. Celebrate the target hit before lunchtime.
- Quick reminders. “Timesheets in by 5pm today, please.”
Imagine Ama, who runs a provisions shop with four staff. Every morning she posts a photo of the price board as a status. By 9am she can see all four have viewed it — nobody quotes the wrong price, and the note clears itself overnight.
“Who has viewed it” is the quiet superpower
Most team messages fail silently. You post, nobody replies, and you never find out whether it landed.
Status shows you who has viewed what you posted. That changes how you work: you stop broadcasting into the dark and start following up with the two people who haven’t opened it.
It also builds a gentle habit. When the team knows you can see views, checking the morning status becomes part of starting the day.
Pro tip: keep each status to one message. One clear instruction gets followed; five crammed into a post get half-read.
Why 24 hours is exactly right
Permanent messages create their own mess. Pinned notes go stale, old instructions get followed by new staff, and someone has to remember to clean up.
A status that expires solves that by design. What’s on the board is current, full stop.
It also keeps the serious stuff where it belongs. Chat is for the day; your books, invoices and records stay in the modules built for them — permanent, posted and auditable.
How Status fits the rest of your working day
Status is the shout across the shop floor. The follow-through lives in the rest of FinAccounting — and it’s all one app.
| The moment | Post as a status | Then do this in the app |
|---|---|---|
| Stock running low | Photo of the empty shelf | Record the movement in Inventory |
| Urgent job for today | “Delivery to the hotel by 3pm” | Assign it in Tasks |
| New till procedure | Short how-to video | Run it on the POS terminal |
Announce it once, then put the work where it can be tracked. Nothing gets lost between the chat and the books.
Getting Status: plans and pricing
Status is part of Team Chat, and Team Chat is included from the Starter plan upward. Starter is GH₵99 a month and covers up to 10 users and 1 company, with full accounting, invoicing, sales, purchases, reports and KPIs alongside the chat.
Need payroll, inventory and point of sale for a bigger crew? Growth is GH₵299 a month, with up to 20 users per company and 3 companies.
Every paid plan opens with a free trial, so you can put Status in front of your team before you pay anything.
You can compare everything on the pricing section, and check or change your own plan any time — the plan and subscription guide shows you how.
Three ways to get more out of Status this week
1. Make it a morning ritual
Post one status before the day starts — today’s priority, today’s prices, today’s cover. Your team will learn to check it first thing.
2. Show, don’t type
A photo of the shelf, the meter, the display or the delivery note beats a paragraph. A short video beats a long explanation.
3. Use the view list to act, not to police
If two people haven’t viewed it an hour in, send them a direct message. The goal is everyone informed, not everyone caught out.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a status stay visible?
Twenty-four hours. After that it disappears on its own, so your chat list stays clean and nobody has to delete anything.
Can I see who viewed my status?
Yes. Each status shows you who has viewed it, so you know whether your team actually saw the message before you chase anyone.
What can I post as a status?
A text update, a photo or a short video. Tap “My status” at the top of your chats and post.
Which plan includes Team Chat?
Team Chat is part of the Starter plan at GH₵99 a month and every plan above it, and every paid plan starts with a 90-day free trial. Open the app to get started.
